Enables more interoperability and collaboration across institutional projects based on a shared understanding and framework.

Adopts a proactive approach to ensuring QA specific to online learning and teaching driven from stakeholder goals and action plans rather reactive responses;

Promotes Hong Kong as a sector leader in this regard and in particular within the Greater Bay China area;

Establishes a sector wide framework that would make the collation of data related to the area of online learning and teaching more systematic and synergistic (and aligned to the QAC 3rd round audit theme).

PROJECT  OUTCOMES

1.

Conduct systematic reviews of quality assurance (QA) processes for the purposes of establishing relevant benchmarking indicators, mechanisms and methodologic processes in VTL that are aligned and tailored to the local Hong Kong context;

2.

Identify and review existing governance and quality assurance frameworks and standards for virtual teaching and learning (VTL) from existing sources and evaluate whether these standards can be potentially employed or suitably modified to serve as frameworks specific to the relevant local Hong Kong context;

3.

Embed virtual teaching and learning (VTL) quality assurance (QA) standards cross-institutionally to ensure that these standards are adequately met and appropriately integrated into guided and professional best practices of VTL.
