ABOUT

Welcome to the Inter-institutional Collaborative Activities Project for Teaching Development and Language Enhancement, focused on “Extending the Online Standards and Enhancing Professional Practices for Virtual Teaching and Learning”. The project involves four participating universities, with Lingnan University (LU) leading the initiative, in partnership with funding from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), and in-kind support from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).

Leveraging internationally recognized best practices and adapt/align them to the specific context of Hong Kong, including the incorporation of blended learning approaches;

Developing an online resource toolkit for blended learning that enables teaching staff and faculty to effectively leverage a wide range of tools and resources, thereby enhancing their blended learning practices and mixed-mode instructional delivery methods;

Ensuring seamless integration of the online toolkit resource into the ABLE@LU professional development programme by integrating pedagogical best practices and instructional strategies in blended learning;

PROJECT DELIVERABLES

1.

To enhance the outcomes of the VTL project that developed a Quality Assurance Framework and Standards for Online Learning and Teaching;

2.

To develop an easily accessible online toolkit resource, which incorporates best practices and pedagogical innovations in VTL/blended learning, making it available to teaching staff across the eight Hong Kong UGC-funded higher education institutions;

3.

To create faculty development training materials that seamlessly incorporate the integration of the online toolkit resource, enhancing the ABLE@LU professional development programme;

4.

To further enhance the externally accredited ABLE@LU professional development programme and secure endorsement from SEDA (Staff and Educational Development Association);    

5.

To facilitate ABLE@LU professional development programme, integrating the online toolkit resource and applying the developed instructional design model within the programme. 

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1.

Deliver finalized online toolkit resource;    

2.

Deliver ABLE@LU professional development programme by combining the online toolkit resource with pedagogical best practices and instructional strategies for blended learning; 

3.

Organize and hold a project dissemination event to showcase the project’s achievements and activities in respect to developed online toolkit resource
